Chapter 1: Evening
This is a real experience in the city of Mist told by the grave keeper working at cemetery number 4. Before working there, the grave keeper had to memorize the rules of this place. First, this number 4 cemetery only accepts anonymous corpses. Second, when receiving the body, no further questions were asked. Third, bury the body in the coffin and spread grass over the newly buried grave. Fourth, burials can only be done during the day and must lead the dog Lucy to patrol the cemetery at night. Fifth, take good care of Lucy.
Finally, if any problems arise in the course of work, they must immediately contact the supervisor of cemetery No. 4. The grave keeper has of course also questioned a series of the above regulations, however, this is a cemetery, and it’s understandable that it has so many mysterious regulations attached to it. That night was the second day the grave keeper worked here, he took a tour of the cemetery to make sure the entrance to the cemetery was locked.
In the distance were two coffins that had just been delivered and were to be buried the next morning, he had heard that they had died in a fire in the mountains, although it sounded a bit gruesome, but fortunately he did not see it directly. two bodies, so I’m not too scared. The grave-keeper went to Lucy’s cage and called her out to go on patrol as usual. And to be honest, he was wondering why would anyone accept a silly dog like Lucy as a cemetery dog?
Suddenly, Lucy barked loudly and growled at him, or rather what was behind him. The grave keeper felt strange, so he immediately went to check the cemetery gate. It was still locked, and no one was there. The grave-keeper had just turned around to question Lucy when a blood-stained sack suddenly fell on the coffin-carriage beside him.
The grave keeper was startled and quickly called Lucy to check. The dog sniffed and then walked around the bag without barking, so the grave-keeper reassured himself that it was okay. He calmly checked the sticker on the bag and realized that the bag contained the headless body of a man who had been killed by a killer calling himself H&H, so he immediately called the cemetery supervisor.
But contrary to the frightened attitude of the grave keeper, the supervisor spoke in a nonchalant manner and said he did not need to report anything to the police. He just told the janitor to burn the body tomorrow morning and then hung up. Surprised at the supervisor’s attitude, but the grave keeper had no choice but to carry Lucy to continue patrolling the cemetery and told himself he would submit his resignation tomorrow.
The night in the cemetery was murky and cold, some of the graves were destroyed, they were dug up by cats or some other animal, animal hair and blood were everywhere. When she reached a grave that had been dug up, Lucy suddenly barked fiercely. The grave-keeper looked up in surprise to a nearby tree and saw an unidentified creature standing there. It asked the gravekeeper between the head and the limbs, which one would the gravekeeper choose.
Not knowing what the creature meant, the grave keeper randomly picked one, the creature snickered and said it would take the rest. Under the blood-red moon, the creature appeared to be a monster with a tall, lanky build and pointed teeth. It forced the gravekeeper to choose between giving Lucy to eat or being eaten.
Naturally, the grave keeper will choose to protect Lucy, he tells Lucy to run away to find the ax while he tries to hold off the monster. A moment later, Lucy returned with a bone, and the monster was right behind them.
But when the monster was about to attack Lucy, Lucy suddenly turned into a monster with a mouth full of teeth. The unlucky monster was torn in half by the dog Lucy, and Lucy wagged her tail at the frightened grave keeper.
Although still very scared, but Lucy saved his life, so the gravekeeper thanked him. The two returned to the cemetery gate when they encountered a headless monster floating in the air. But before he could do anything, the monster was torn in half, and a man wearing a hat suddenly appeared. Lucy ran to his side, wagging her tail as if she had met an acquaintance.
The man mumbled to himself that beheading was not enough to kill these monsters and told the grave keeper if he wanted to live, leave this place quickly. No one knows what will happen to the gravekeeper right after that, and chapter 1 has officially ended here.
Chapter 2: Crying
Chapter 2 is the story of a traveler named Jack. That day he was finding his way to the old street when he got lost due to the dense fog. An alcoholic uncle lent Jack a lamp so he could walk in the night and warn Jack of possible dangers along the way.
Ignoring the warnings, Jack continues and finds a dangerous area fenced with wire with the warning “Whosoever enters will be damned”. But Jack ignores it and uses a stone taken from a nearby animal grave to break the lock into the dangerous area.
Stepping inside, he saw the shadow of a girl who looked like his sister lurking in the distance, so he tried to chase her. Finally, the shadow brought Jack to the old part of the city of Mist. The place was empty, but the street lights were still on.
In the white mist, Jack sees a man wearing a hat and encounters a bloody monster that looks like a centipede, he tries to run away from it and accidentally falls off the railing, but luckily a man he showed up in time and saved him up.
After asking, the man found Jack pitiful, so he decided to let him sleep for the night. The man who introduced himself was Rob, he had a wife named Anna, a son named Tim and a daughter named Sara. Everyone in Rob’s family is very welcoming to Jack’s presence, but Jack notices that there is something very strange about their family, for example, even though it is very dark in the house, they do not turn on the lights at night. .
Rob explains, every night when night falls, the city of Mist becomes inhabited by monsters, and they call them night dwellers, and the monster Jack meets is one of them. , so they had to turn off the lights to stop the monsters from noticing. No one knows where these monsters come from, and no one is alive to know it.
Jack asks Rob about the haunted house down the street, but Rob says he doesn’t know anything. It turns out that Jack’s sister has gone missing, and he wants to go to the city of Mist to find his sister. Then Jack asked Rob about the crying in the basement. Rob said he once had another daughter, but she unfortunately got sick and died. For some reason, the girl’s spirit resides in the basement and cries out at night.
Rob says this is just normal and advises Jack to take a nap. Jack leaned back on the sofa and fell asleep in no time. In his dream, he saw his sister Emma coming out of Rob’s cellar. Emma says that Jack abandoned her, but also begs him to save her.
Jack wakes up from the nightmare and decides to go down to the basement to find out the truth. Along the way, Jack encounters a small monster, which has followed him all the way. The monster rushed to attack Jack and was knocked unconscious by him using a statue. After dealing with the monster, Jack sneaks down to the basement of the house and finds a sacrifice table. Rob suddenly appears and reveals to Jack a horrifying truth.
He was actually just like you, the fog in this city created the illusion and led him to this sacrificial table, and it was it that helped him and his wife revive their dead daughter Sara. Jack’s face was pale and trembling with panic, he looked at the girl standing next to him, but Rob said it was just a puppet.
The girl actually appeared as a monster made of many mice and human bones put together. Rob said the altar had combined the rats and helped him revive his little daughter. The cry that Jack heard was nothing but laughter when his daughter saw a stranger coming to play.
Later, Jack is captured by Rob with the aim of making him part of his family. Jack tries to fight back and runs away from the basement. The fog that surrounds him intentionally disguises himself as his sister to distract Jack, but the little monster he knocked unconscious just now reappears and guides Jack in the right direction.
After escaping from the basement, Jack still hides in the book room and the monster continues to chase him. It took a while for Jack to tame the monster and clarify the situation. Although he did not know anything more about Emma, Jack learned that the guests who had come to this place had been killed by the Rob and his wife and turned them into a meal for his daughter.
Jack decided to kill the monster to free the poor girl’s soul, but it turned out that things were even scarier than he thought. Actually there was no family here, it was his wife Anna who arrested the people who came to this house and brainwashed them and turned them into her puppets. And she’s not even a human, but a terrifying rat monster.
Just as she was about to attack Jack, a man in a black hat named Hatter appeared and killed her. Hatter says Emma is still alive, takes Jack out of the City of Mist and tells him what happened to Emma, but since the producer doesn’t reveal it we won’t know what the two of them exchanged. what and the game ends with Jack leaving the City of Mist.
Since chapters 3, 4 and 5 have not been released yet, we have to stop here. But through chapters 1 and 2, we can see that the city of Mist is being invaded by monsters at night. These monsters often harm people and cause mysterious disappearances, so an organization has been formed to deal with them.
The Hatter or Mr. H&H and the cemetery supervisor in chapter 1 are also members of the organization. After the Hatter destroys the monsters, the corpses will be brought by the crows to cemetery number 4 for the supervisor to dispose of by burying or cremating them.
Currently, because the game has not been officially released, we still do not know where those monsters come from, who is the real Hatter? And what will the end of the foggy city be like. But based on the experiences that chapters 1 and 2 bring, I can say that this game is worth looking forward to in the future. What about your opinion?
