Every party has to come to an end, recently actor Dave Bautista has officially said goodbye to the character Drax in the MCU.
On his personal Insta page, actor Dave Bautista posted a photo of himself and the Guardians of the Galaxy cast with the message:
“Do not know what to say! The ending was so abrupt and I had to watch my sequel before I could accept that the journey that changed my life was coming to an end.”
He posted this announcement shortly after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 officially closed, this also implicitly confirms the rumor that the character Drax will officially die.
It was previously revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is not only a comedy (like the previous two) but it is also a touching work and also a tribute to the characters in “Galaxy Circus”. This is the last installment of Guardians of the Galaxy, so it’s understandable that a character will die.
Let’s take a look at the contributions of the character Drax in the MCU.
Drax is a former Kylosian intergalactic criminal and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He sought revenge against Ronan the Accuser for killing his wife and daughter, he later became known as the Terminator and was imprisoned by the Nova Corps in Kyln. There, Drax became allies with Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot. Together, they break free from Kyln and are caught up in a quest to find the orb of power. After the Battle of Xandar, where he finally avenged Ronan, Drax left Xandar with the Guardians but declared Thanos his next target.
Following in the footsteps of the Guardians, Drax assisted in killing Abilisk for the people of Sovereign. Drax follows the Guardians as they encounter Ego, Star-Lord’s long-lost father. Along the way, he developed a close relationship with Mantis. Drax and the Guardians defeated Ego, saving the galaxy once again but at the cost of Yondu Udonta’s sacrifice.
Four years later, the Guardians of the Galaxy teamed up with Thor and the Avengers to stop Thanos from obtaining the Infinity Stones. When Thanos collected all the stones, he used them to destroy half of the universe’s population, including Drax and the Guardians, with the exception of Rocket Raccoon and Nebula. Five years after the Snap, the remaining Avengers successfully collected the Infinity Stones from various points in the past for the Hulk to revive the Snap’s victims, bringing Drax back to life. He later joined the battle in the End Game, attended Tony Stark’s funeral, and rejoined the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the end of the journey of the character Drax in the MCU.
