DAYS ~fragment~ side story will have 9 chapters, focusing on the past, future of the main story
This year’s 27th issue of Kodansha, Weekly Shonen Magazine revealed on Wednesday that Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s manga DAYS will get a new perspective mini-series, DAYS ~fragment~ and will launch in the next issue. According to the magazine on September 9, the mini-series will have only nine chapters, and will tell a “shard” of the past and future of the main story.
Yasuda launched the series in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in April 2013, and ended the series on January 20 earlier this year. Kodansha published the manga’s 42nd volume on March 17. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga digitally in English and it describes the story:
During his last spring break before starting high school, Tsukushi Tsukamoto met Jin Kazama, who invited him to a rugby match. Their chance meeting, and his first experience with soccer, lead the kind, shy Tsukushi to enroll in his new high school’s soccer club, one of the strongest. in Japan. A 24-episode anime television series based on the manga was released from July to December 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The manga also includes five episodes of the original anime video in 2017 and 2018.
Ponycan USA has announced plans to release the series in the United States.
