The first 18 minutes of the Dead Space remake have been released, giving an insight into what fans can expect from this Remake when the game launches early next year. With the spiritual successor The Callisto Protocol receiving mixed reviews, and a lot of criticism about lag issues on the PC version, the pressure on Motive Studios may be a bit higher, as many Dead Space fans will now head to this modern take on a classic game.
As a sci-fi game with a desirable high score, the original Dead Space brought something much-needed to the genre. While iconic franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill continue to release, the horror genre hasn’t seen something exciting and new in a while. One thing that many will notice is that Isaac Clarke has been voiced in the Dead Space remake, while he’s more of a Gordon Freeman-style quiet protagonist in the original. Maybe some people might be rejected by the idea, but it at least allowed some back-and-forth conversation between him and the rest of the crew. Also keep in mind that Clarke had lines in the second and third seasons, voiced by Gunner Wright, who took over the role in the remake.
With the remake of Resident Evil 4 coming out in March, there will be even more choices for horror enthusiasts when it comes to classic games with a modern twist.
