Inosuke’s new allies are a surprise revelation, even for the Demon Slayer, but these unexpected allies may be more important than they realize.
Kodoani.com – WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Part 2, Episode 11.
Everything is always tense in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaibabut in Part 2, Episode 11, they become very … strange. After Zenitsu Agatsuma went missing, causing Tengen Uzui to stop his mission, Inosuke Hashibira decided he had enough of these secret games. Throwing his head through the ceiling into the attic, because how else would he do it, Inosuke said a few strange words: “Hey rat! my sword!” two rats were actually carrying swords for Inosuke.
Muscle Rats are aptly named exactly as they sound – very good rodents. Animal assistants are not uncommon in Demon Slayer, as most members of the Legion are accompanied by a Kasugai Raven that specializes in deliveries from Ubuyashiki. However, Inosuke tried to eat the crow assigned to him, so he is clearly not good with animals. Perhaps unsurprisingly, though, he’s completely enamored with the Muscular Mice and wants his own little minions to master his surroundings.
Muscle Rats are Tengen Uzui’s servants, and it seems he has temporarily gifted a pair of them to Inosuke for their duty in the Amusement Park. The rats clearly belonged to Tengen – not the Demon Slayer Corps – as they all wore Sound Hashira’s identical gem-encrusted headbands. Although he calls the Muscular Mice “The Shadow Demon Slayer Corps”, it is highly unlikely that anyone else considers them to be actual members of the Legion.
Meaning that the Muscular Mouse was no more than the normal hamster that Tengen had trained to act as his “ninju”. The flashy Hashira demands that they have an equal stage, and only accepts rats that will be narcissistic and proud of their strong muscles. In fact, “muscle” seems to be the only word rats can actually speak. How Tengen managed to make these rats so strong, walking on two legs, understanding human languages, and even talking is a mystery on par with Muzan Kibutsuji’s origins, but perhaps less likely to be explained. .
The rats that secretly work behind the scenes to help demon slayers defeat demons are too strange to be introduced for such a trivial task as swordsmanship. Tengen mentions in the Taisho Age Secrets segment that he brings rats to fit in small places he can’t get to. Daki, Senior Six – whom Tengen is looking for – has shown that she can escape through the walls and ceilings inside the houses of the Recreation Area. If she was going to run away like that again, it would probably be none other than the Muscular Mice who would be able to track her down.
Muscular rats have tremendous strength beyond what even their cartoon muscles can possibly have, and while they may still not be able to fight a demon, they can find a way to contribute. despite. As the flashy patrons of Tengen Uzui, these rats will likely be in the majority of “Amusement Zone”, as they even make a brief appearance in the prologue. Muscular Mice may not have defeated Daki on their own, but it’s interesting to think that these peculiar rodents could have a major part as the Demon Slayer goes on.
