Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, heroine Nezuko and her voice actress Akari Kitō made their debut on the cover of Japan’s Weekly Playboy magazine for its Sunday July 26 issue. This issue features an interview with Kito, and it also marks her first time modeling for a men’s magazine.
In the interview, Kitō describes her experience playing the role of Nezuko, as well as the circumstances that led to her accepting the modeling job. “Everybody on the set was complimenting me, so I was happy to be photographed. For Weekly Playboy, they had a strong model image, so I wondered, ‘Am I the right fit?’ (laughs) In my head, I can get the impression that they show a lot of skin.”
On the other end, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba also recently appeared on the cover of women’s fashion magazine Spur ‘s August issue. Stylist Kumiko Iijima and fashion historian Hisako Anjō discussed about the style of clothing shown in the anime series. Issued on June 23.
Last year, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba appeared in the girls’ magazine Seventeen.
