T1 destroyed SGB in the opening match of MSI 2022, but SGB’s bottom lane Shogun and Taki still excited the audience when playing “dry blood” with Keria and Gumayusi.
After many days of anticipation, the first match of MSI 2022 has officially started, more especially when this is the match between Saigon Buffalo and the “T20 giant”. After 2 years of absence from the international arena due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, SGB is receiving great expectations from VCS fans. Despite facing T1 in the first match, fans still want SGB to be able to create an impressive match to “celebrate” the return of VCS.
Not disappointing the audience, SGB has kept the “dry blood” style of the region’s trademark. The first 20 minutes of the game was a dramatic tug-of-war with a series of skirmishes from the two teams.
The highlight of SGB in this match was the extremely confident performance of the bottom lane pair Shogun and Taki. Right in the first minutes of the match, Shogun got the first kill from Gumayusi, right after that, he flew straight into the T1 bot lane and “crushed” the opponent.
Partly because of the general quality, the couple Gumayusi and Keria could not react in time to the “stormy” play of Shogun and Taki. However, soon after that, they regained their stability and played more firmly. This is also the time when the rest of T1 “speaks up”, very quickly the advantage was balanced between both teams, even T1 did not take long to increase the money gap with SGB.
Towards the end of the match, T1 showed the bravery of a top LCK team. Almost SGB fights were “strangled” easily. This scenario is similar to the previous times the VCS region faced the LCK or LPL. Although there was a very good early game, the difference in level made the game situation unchanged.
After just over 25 minutes of play, T1 officially won a devastating victory against SGB as expected. However, praise must also be given to SGB for playing very hard, this is really an impressive “debut” of VCS after more than 2 years of absence in the international arena.
To be able to pass the SGB group stage, it is necessary to prepare more carefully, especially the psychological issue. According to statistics, SGB is the team with the average age of the youngest teams at MSI 2022, so the players are easy to make mistakes. The most important opponent that SGB needs to overcome is DFM, the upcoming two will have a high-low confrontation that VCS fans cannot miss.
Information about MSI 2022 will be updated, please stay tuned for more.
