As we all know, after Boruto and his father defeated Momoshiki Otsutsuki, in his hand appeared a mysterious seal called Karma. It was from here that the connection between him and Momoshiki appeared. According to the explanation, this Karma seal was Momoshiki’s data that was being gradually extracted from Boruto’s body. And when the “unpacking” process is completed, Boruto will disappear and be completely replaced by Momoshiki. That was the way the Otsutsuki clan used to reincarnate.
According to the information in the manga, the decompression process of Momoshiki has reached 70-80%. That means it won’t be long before Boruto will be completely taken over by Momoshiki. Currently every time when being controlled by Momoshiki we see Boruto’s strength increase, this is because he has been given an increase in chakra and some other powers of the Otsutsuki clan.
Odama Rasengan
Boruto cannot use the Giant Rasengan or the Odama Rasengan, the reason being that Boruto’s chakra is not as large as Naruto’s. But when controlled by Momoshiki, Boruto can use this technique. Even in chapter 65, we saw Momoshiki being able to cast a giant Rasengan the size of Boruto’s body.
Rasendan
Asshuku Rasengan or High Compression Rasengan is a new technique that Boruto uses. At this point Boruto compresses a normal sized Rasengan into a smaller size to increase the chakra pressure, which is considered a very dangerous technique if used at close range.
Momoshiki in Boruto’s body is also able to use this technique, but with a large amount of chakra it becomes extremely powerful and is called Rasendan. At first glance, the Rasendan is no different from the mini Rasengan version of Naruto, but it has the ability to shoot like a bullet at very high speed. In addition, the pose for using Rasendan is also different, Boruto has to raise his right hand and pose as if he is shooting a gun. The vortex bullet was created from his fingertips and sped away at an extremely fast speed.
Byakugan
In fact, although Boruto is a descendant of Hyuga, he is confirmed to have no Byakugan. But when controlled by Momoshiki, Boruto possessed this eye on the right instead of Jogan’s position.
Here we can understand that Boruto is also a distant descendant of the Otsutsuki clan (he carries the blood of Uzumaki and Hyuga – 2 clans with distant roots from Otsutsuki). Therefore, it is possible that when possessed by Momoshiki, Boruto awakened the Byakugan – the kekkei genkai that most Otsutsuki clans have. This makes Boruto controlled by Momoshiki even more dangerous.
In short, while Momoshiki was in Boruto’s body, he was able to create a powerful and fast version of the Rasengan thanks to the large amount of chakra from Momoshiki, along with the power of the Byakugan eye. This combination is all thanks to the curse seal Karma, which plays an important role in combining and transferring the power between Boruto and Momoshiki. This shows that although Boruto is currently not completely possessed by Momoshiki, he still has “access” to the full power and chakra of this Otsutsuki.
