According to the report, Dragon Ball continues to be the “goose that lays golden eggs” bringing in the largest revenue even though Dragon Ball Super has stopped broadcasting for the past 4 years. It is predicted that in 2022, Dragon Ball will continue to explode with the latest movie “Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO” scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on April 22, 2022.

Toei Animation’s total revenue for the second quarter of 2022 was 24,504 million yen (the biggest increase in the past 5 years). Sales based on 3 segments are divided as follows:

4. SUMMARY

In 2022, both Dragon Ball and One Piece have new movies about to be released in theaters. The movie “Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO” and the movie “One Piece: Film RED” are expected to continue to break the box office in 2022 and bring Toei Animation great sales.
