The end of the Dr Stone manga has left a lot of regret for the audience, but it seems that the author still wants to exploit more about the series through a new one-shot.
Dr Stone will return this summer with a new one-shot
The Dr Stone manga ended earlier this year, but the author is preparing for a special return with a new one-shot that will be released in the summer of 2022. The final chapter of Dr Stone is played by Riichiro Inagaki. and Boichi launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in early spring. However, recently it has been reported that a special chapter of Dr Stone’s story will be released soon, the new chapter will be the author’s gratitude to the fans and also to prepare for the new season of Dr. Dr Stone anime premiere.
Simultaneously with the release of the anime Dr. Stone: Ryusui on July 10, Dr Stone has confirmed that the new one-shot will premiere in the July 4 special issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Details and what will appear in the new one-shot have not been revealed too much yet, but the author has confirmed that there will be more revelations about the new chapter by the end of the month.
As for Dr Stone: Ryusui, this will be an hour-long anime special that introduces fans to Ryusui Nanami, who will play an extremely important role for the rest of the series. The third part is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2023.

Dr Stone is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since March 6, 2017 with single chapters collected and published by Shueisha into twenty-five volumes. as of March 2022. A two-season anime series adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired as of July 5, 2019.
Student Taiju tells his science-loving friend Senku that he is about to confess to Yuzuriha, whom he has been secretly in love with for 5 years. Meeting under a camphor tree on the schoolyard, just as Taiju was about to confess, a brilliant blue light appeared in the sky. Taiju pushed Yuzuriha towards the tree to protect her, but that light penetrated everything and petrified all humans on earth, and every human being on Earth was petrified.
Most humans begin to lose consciousness while all traces of civilization begin to decline, but Taiju retains consciousness as time goes by thanks to the drive to free both himself and Yuzuriha. .
Eventually, Taiju escapes from petrification and finds a message carved in the tree, which helps him discover that Senku has also come out of petrification.
