Died of illness
During the Cell Saga, Goku is susceptible to illness and can even die. Trunks goes back in time to warn Goku that, in the future, he will die from a heart disease caused by a virus, fatal even for a Saiyan. Goku wouldn’t be able to come back to life because the Dragon Balls don’t revive people who die of natural causes and the seeds of the gods don’t cure diseases.
