This is a cryptic summary of what happened in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 75, “The Power of Destruction”.
After seeing it all but inevitably losing his battle with Granolah in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 74, Vegeta revealed the new transformation he learned during his training with Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7. Although the exact possibility of the shape is not clear, but Dragon Ball Super Chapter 75 shows how much stronger the transformation makes Vegeta. Here’s a spoiler recap of what happened.
Dragon Ball Super Introduces Vegeta’s New Form: Ultra Ego
At the end of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 74, Vegeta bragged that his strength was “infinite”. At first, Granolah is confused as to what this means, but a massive surge of energy makes Vegeta clearly stronger than before. Rushing forward, Prince Saiyan grabbed his opponent’s scarf and told him to “get ready to witness.”
And Vegeta really did give Granolah some love. The hero begins to throw Granolah around Planet Cereal, proving that Vegeta has far surpassed his previous level of strength. While Granolah attempted to attack Vegeta, unable to defeat the Saiyan, declaring, “The stronger my fighting spirit is, the stronger I am.”
With each new attack, Vegeta comes back stronger than before. Before long, he fought to the ruins of a Cerealian city, causing great damage to what was left of the Granolah legacy. After a brief talk about just what the God of Destruction is, Vegeta reveals that his battle with Granolah has sparked a new, inner strength within him. Granolah then tries to blast Vegeta with a barrage of energy attacks, but the Saiyans prove themselves superior.
Hidden inside an energy shield, Granolah was initially unable to understand why Vegeta didn’t even bother to dodge Granolah’s attacks, realizing that his opponent’s transformation was nothing like Goku’s. “You don’t dare compare his pathetic technique with mine,” Vegeta said. “Kakarrot’s body may have a mind of its own, but I am the ego. In fact, let’s go ahead and call this Ultra Ego.” Thus, Vegeta’s new transformation is officially named: Ultra Ego. Honestly, you might want to discuss that a bit.
Granolah Goes Up In The Fight Against Vegeta
After Vegeta released Granolah through his shield, Cerealian eventually expressed his anger that he would lose to a Saiyan before he could reach Freeza. However, Vegeta then begins to explain that Freeza has also wiped out the Saiyans and that he himself doesn’t like villains. It was clear that Vegeta was trying to make Granolah stop fighting, but Cerealian tried to follow in his footsteps. Even if Vegeta tells the truth, Granolah will not stop trying to get revenge on the Saiyans.
Granolah tries to attack Vegeta, but the Saiyan ends up just taking him to the sky. On top of one of the ruined buildings, Oatmeel – the artificial intelligence inside Granolah’s eye patch – tries to convince the fighting to stop. Instead, however, Granolah just threw Oatmeel away, saying he didn’t need help anymore. Then Granolah’s ship came to pick up Oatmeel and fly away. The relationship between the two thus appears to be over, at least for now. This also continues Granolah’s pattern of hurting those closest to him in search of revenge.
Realizing that he needed to change his strategy to defeat Vegeta, Granolah began hurling fragments of Cerealian’s remains at his opponent. Knowing nothing can stop Granolah from his path, Vegeta begins to throw down again. The two exchanged a series of deadly blows. As this was happening, Goku stood up and felt the battle. Saiyan observes that Vegeta seems to have lost some of the power he had before, Granolah begins to fight. Goku then begins trying to heal himself, knowing he will soon be needed.
Vegeta’s Battle With Granolah Goes Badly
After unleashing a barrage of energy attacks against Granolah, Vegeta’s vision begins to blur – he “takes too much damage.” However, Granolah is still not ready to take his hand, pointing a gun at Vegeta in hopes of knocking down the Saiyan with an energy blast. Vegeta then resolves to end the battle quickly, throwing an orb of energy aimed at destroying the planet. Granolah fires her blasts at the orb of energy, causing a massive explosion that shakes the entire planet.
When the dust settled, Vegeta lay on the ground, while Granolah remained standing. “I must thank you, Saiyan,” said Granolah, mocking his opponent. “You are responsible for drawing this power from me.” So while Vegeta may still be alive and well, his battle against Granolah is almost certainly over. His opponent has once again overtaken him, and Vegeta has added another loss to his fighting record.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 75 doesn’t end with Vegeta losing to Granolah. Elsewhere on Planet Cereal, the Heeters are still figuring out how to collect the Dragon Balls. The villainous group, which tricked Granolah into fighting against Goku and Vegeta, wanted the Dragon Balls for some nefarious purpose, though exactly what remains unclear at this point. So it seems that, even if the three warriors survive their battle, they will soon have to face the Heeters – and whatever power they get from the Dragon Balls.
