EA is trying to change the way games are made more efficiently to compete with the big names
In the era of the game industry is developing strongly, along with the expansion of some big companies such as Microsoft, Tencent, etc., the EA side is also making important changes. Team GM Samantha Ryan talks about EA’s efforts to be more transparent and open to what developers are doing.
At the end of last year, EA made a seemingly insignificant change to its executive team. The people in charge of the various studios must report directly to CEO Andrew Wilson. It was a move made with one aim to bring the company’s leadership closer to the people who directly made the game.
BioWare’s Samantha Ryan explains: “EA’s biggest goal is to create a lot of good quality products for players. studio director. Ideally, it would help EA management to be more closely aligned with the needs of the studios so that they can closely direct the game making.”
Ryan was an employee who started out in marketing, then went on to lead Shadow of Mordor developer Monolith, before becoming the development and production SVP at Warner Bros, overseeing major teams like Batman Rocksteady and studio NetherRealm. by Mortal Kombat.
Ryan was tasked with leading the EA teams but was not involved in the production of Battlefield. The category Ryan participates in is racing games or sports in general. And in these studios you can see some of the new approaches the company is taking to game development.
Perhaps the most obvious change is that Full Circle is working to revive the Skate series, while Motive is remaking the horror game Dead Space. These are the franchises EA decided to switch to from there before.
Ryan said that EA has given more authority to its studios, the autonomy to decide what games they want to develop, instead of waiting for decisions from above.
“Everybody doing their best work freely makes a difference. Passionate developers often make better games if their minds are freed. Then the product will have a unique and breakthrough” – Ryan shared.
Recently, FIFA players have been eager to get a sequel in the franchise. Gamers playing FIFA on PC always complain about hackers affecting product quality. EA immediately took steps to suppress the cheat hack with a more upgraded mechanism.
Now, FIFA 23 can bring PC players an immersive gameplay experience on PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Have fun playing the game!
