Electronic Arts has announced that it will be removing three of its classic games from its store in April 2023, in preparation for the discontinuation of services later this year.
68 Card Games
Number 1 Prestige Rewards Card Game 2023
These games include Battlefield 1943, Bad Company, and Bad Company 2. All three games will no longer be available in stores on April 28, 2023, and online services will be discontinued on April 8. December.
According to EA’s announcement, this is intended to focus more on current and future Battlefield projects. Players who already own the game before April 28 will still be able to play the single player mode and other offline features.
These games are all developed by DICE which has been around for 14 to 15 years of release. Battlefield: Bad Company released on June 23, 2008 is the oldest. It was the first game to introduce the main characters Marlowe, Redford, Haggard, and Sweetwater. The products have made a bold impression, leaving many memories for gamers.
Meanwhile, Mirror’s Edge, DICE’s hit classic first-person parkour adventure game, is one of those games that won’t be deleted. Electronic Arts has clarified that this is a bug, and the company said on Twitter that it has no plans to remove Mirror’s Edge from the store.
Thus, Battlefield, the very popular first-person shooter series set in different war scenarios, is coming to an end. Related to this decision is the upcoming shutdown of the online servers of all of the aforementioned games, the single player mode will remain active after that date in the first and second seasons of Battlefield: Bad Company™ . Since Battlefield 1943 only offers multiplayer, this really means the game will close down completely.
It can be said that the closure of Battlefield games that have been attached to the player community for a long time makes many people feel regret. But “every fun comes to an end”, EA has its own strategies for trading other games that bring higher profits. Players can find new experiences in future products.
