Kodoani.com – Official website of KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de (KanColle: Someday in that Sea), the second season of the KanColle anime, announced on Thursday that the anime’s fourth episode is delayed to December 15 due to “production circumstances”. Instead, the anime will rerun the first three episodes, starting with the first episode tonight, and the second and third episodes over the next two Thursdays (December 1 and 8, respectively).
The anime premiered in Japan on November 3.
The anime will have eight episodes (as opposed to the usual one-episode television anime length of 11-13 episodes), as the producer specifically wanted to enhance the quality by telling a more condensed story with fewer episodes.
The anime’s voice cast includes Saki Fujita, Yumi Tanabe, Aya Suzaki, Yui Horie, Iori Nomizu, Yui Ogura, Risa Taneda, Kozue Hayasaka, Wakana Miyawaka, Mana Komatsu, Ayana Taketatsu, Yuki Yamada, and Nao Tōyama.
Kazuya Miura (DRAMAtical Murder, Full Dive, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) is directing the anime at ENGI. Kensuke Tanaka, the original creator of the franchise, is writing the script for the anime. Chika Nomi is designing the characters. Kaori Ohkoshi is composing the music, while Yuichi Imaizumi is the sound director.
The anime is based on a web browser game released in 2013 and is set in a world where humanity has lost control of the seas. The threat that had taken over the seas was the Abyssal fleet. The only ones who can stand up to this threat are Kan-Musu (Fleet Girls), girls who possess the souls of naval ships from days gone by.
The first 12-episode television anime series premiered in January 2015.
The Kantai -KanColle- collection debuted in Japan in November 2016 and earned 560 million yen (about US$5 million) in March 2017.
