Responding to the movement of “making music rather than making games” from Riot headquarters, another great work has just been released from the LEC Spring 2022 tournament.
The LEC’s Twitter account shared a clip of what appears to be the European tournament’s upcoming music video, giving fans a first look at the official song before it debuts at 9am time zone. CT Jan 10. Based on the genre of the song and the vocals in the song, the singer (and possibly the actress in the video) could be Chrissy Costanza, lead singer of the band Against The Current.
This is not the first time that the band Against The Current has collaborated with the game League of Legends. In 2017, the band teamed up with Riot Games to produce and perform the World Championship theme song “Legends Never Die”. Two years later, Costanza performed the title song “Phoenix” on the World Finals stage in magnificent Paris.
In addition to the band Against The Current, the song features 2 commentators and rappers from the LEC. A tournament tweet from this official account on January 7 shows Andrew “Vedius” holding a drawing of him and his teammate Daniel Drakos along with a mysterious 3rd figure. The two will likely feature in the song, either by showing off their skills as either brawlers or just ‘cameos’ in the official LEC tournament M/V.
By zooming in on the image, League of Legends fans were able to see the words “LEC joins ATC”, alluding to the aforementioned European League of Legends and band collaboration.
The LEC’s 2022 season will officially kick off on January 14, but according to the league’s Twitter account, we can hear the new theme song for the season on January 10 at 9 a.m. EST. CT hours.
