In recent days, the Genshin Impact community has become extremely excited with the appearance of a new character. Accordingly, the name mentioned is Sethos – a male warrior with a mysterious whereabouts from Sumeru. Originating from a short scene in Cyno's legendary quest 2, Sethos promises to become a playable character with overwhelming power and will soon appear after version 4.6.
Sethos is expected to be a playable character after patch 4.6.
However, what the community knows about this guy is still very limited. In the livestream introducing the new version of miHoYo, Sethos only appeared for a few short seconds. The name Sethos has similarities with the names of many Pharaohs, and is reminiscent of the god Seth – one of the 9 supreme gods of ancient Egypt.
As miHoYo revealed, Sethos appears in a scene of a direct confrontation with Cyno. This may be due to their connection to the ancient god Hermanubis – who was said to possess the primordial power of Cyno. Many gamers have also seen Sethos's Vision Loi and confirmed this opinion.
Sethos is said to have Vision Lightning similar to Cyno.
Many theories say that Sethos is an alternative to Cyno when this guy chooses to “self-expell” from the academy. As the General Administrator of Mahamatra, Cyno's role is too important even though this guy has been a “thorn” in the eyes of the sages for a long time. Therefore, the time Cyno went missing was very suitable for them to look for a replacement character. None other than Sethos.
As mentioned above, Sethos is said to have powers almost similar to Cyno. However, this guy will likely only be a 4-star character. The reason is because version 4.0 has released too many previous 5-star characters. Most recently, the appearance of Arlecchino is the clearest proof of this argument.
In general, all of the above hypotheses are only speculative. Undeniably, Sethos is receiving a lot of attention at the moment, but players still need to wait for miHoYo to confirm directly to better understand this guy.
