SEA Games 31 is a very special sports festival when there are 8 eSports disciplines competing in the strength of the host country Vietnam. And the competition equipment is also a matter of concern.
E-Sports (Also known as eSports) is a completely new content in recent SEA Games. At the 31st SEA Games, Vietnam hosted eight eSports events with a total of 10 medal events. With 5 out of 8 sports in the Mobile category, played entirely on smartphones, what brand will the players use to make official competition equipment when participating in SEA Games 31?
In eSports Mobile competitions, smartphones are considered a vital weapon for players on the battlefield to conquer the 31st SEA Games Gold Medal – The official device for these competitions. For example, football players will have spiked shoes, balls; badminton players will hold a racket and a badminton ball; cyclists will accompany them on their specialized bikes. All have a world of their own, specialized competition equipment to show off their skills and conquer the audience with spectacular performances.
At SEA Games 31, 5 out of 8 eSports subjects under Mobile content include games: Lien Quan Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legend: Bang Bang. Today, let’s join Game4V to find out which smartphone eSports players will use as their official competition device at the 31st SEA Games.
On May 13, Free Fire officially kicked off with the participation of 10 representatives from 5 countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. The two official representatives of Vietnam in this sport are Team Flash and King Man. It is known that Asus is the official sponsor of competitive equipment for players with a name that is not too unfamiliar to the gaming world: Asus ROG Phone 5s. This is not a surprising fact when previously, Asus ROG Phone 5s accompanies Vietnamese players in the Yomost VFT Spring 2022 tournament – the highest level tournament in Vietnam in the Free Fire subject. This is a high-end gaming smartphone and also the dream of the Vietnamese gaming community.
Meanwhile, Samsung is the official sponsor of the PUBG Mobile tournament at SEA Games 31. That has fueled speculation in the online community that Samsung series A will be the official device for this game at SEA Games. The 31st Southeast Asian Games with the brightest name is only Samsung A73 5G – It is said that it does not meet the configuration requirements of a heavy game like PUBG Mobile. However, there is also news that PUBG Mobile will use the iPhone as the official competition device, although it is unclear which model. Samsung only stands as a media sponsor and does not provide competition equipment.
The remaining eSports Mobile subjects such as: League: Wild Rift, Lien Quan Mobile or Mobile Legend: Bang Bang will use competition equipment provided by the Organizing Committee or prepared by the players themselves. According to Game4V, the best and most likely option is Apple’s most advanced model: iPhone 13 Promax. According to the rules set forth by the 31st SEA Games Organizing Committee, the competition device will be set to the initial state (Default) not to install any programs or run in the background third-party software. The referee team has the right to refuse a player’s personal device if the above mandatory requirements are not met.
Regarding network connection, the Organizing Committee has arranged 2 separate internet lines with a minimum speed of 200Mbps for each eSports subject to compete. Competition devices are smartphones used by players that will connect to wifi to dedicated transmitters and place them closest to the competition location. Each competition area for each subject will be provided with its own network connection to ensure stability and limit risks.
Esports is gradually being received by the community with sympathetic eyes. Join Game4V to cheer for the Vietnamese team in both traditional sports and e-sports. Because of the color of the flag and the shirt of Vietnam.
