The game features new and returning Servants, historical Masters in a story set in Keian Uprising
Kodoani.com – Koei Tecmo America has officially released a new trailer for Fate/Samurai Remnant, the new action role-playing game for the Fate franchise, during a Nintendo Direct showcase that streamed on Wednesday. The trailer with English subtitles confirms the game’s release date as September 28 in Japan and a September 29 launch date outside of Japan.
4th year of Keian Era, Edo Period. Several decades have passed since the end of a turbulent and bloody era. Everyone is enjoying the peace and quiet. But, a battle between the seven pairs of Masters and Servants is about to begin, as the “Rite of the Wax Moon” takes place in the darkness. Miyamoto Iori, a young man from Asakusa, finds himself caught up in the violence of the Holy Grail War.
The trailer also reveals the game’s Servants, with several new Servants making their first appearance in the game and some returning, including Miyamoto Musashi and Jeanne d’Arc Alter. The name of the main character in the story is Miyamoto Iori, and he is the Master of an unnamed Saber-class Servant. Miyamoto Musashi appears as a Berserker, and as the Servant of the prostitute Takao Dayu. Jeanne d’Arc Alter appears as a Lancer, and a Servant of Chiemon, who survived the rebels. Other Masters with unknown Servant include Ming China general Zheng Chenggong (with Archer Servant), martial arts scholar Yui Shousetsu (with Rider Servant), and Swedish Clock Tower mage Dorothea Coyett (with Assassin Servant). .
Rei Wataru, the artist of Fate/Grand Order -Epic of Remnant- Pseudo-Singularity III (which features Miyamoto Musashi as the central character), is designing the characters. Hikaru Sakurai (Steampunk visual novel series) and Yuichiro Higashide (Tokyo Babel), both of whom wrote the scripts for Fate/Grand Order, are overseeing the game’s story. CloverWorks is animating the game’s intro video.
The game will release worldwide for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (via Steam), and Switch. Type-Moon is overseeing the project and Aniplex is co-producing.
