It is a fact that since season 6.5 was updated until now, physical damage squads are completely overwhelming the Tactics Arena meta. Meanwhile, squads that are more prone to magic damage have too little acting ground and are often ignored by gamers. The biggest reason for this is that the teams that are prone to physical damage are buffed too much with cool new mains. Meanwhile, the Mage team received an Ahri that was too difficult to use.
Ahri is not a champion that puts as much damage as Lux, so the current Mage team is quite difficult to play
Realizing this, after a long month with version 12.5, Riot recently released the first information about version 12.6. A special feature here is that in the system editing section, Riot Games has announced that they will nerf the AD of 31 champions at all prices from 1-5 gold. This promises to make the dominance of physical damage in the “dignified chess” no longer and the formations playing magic damage have more ground.
There are 31 generals with reduced AD, 10 points heavy, 5 points lighter in version 12.6
Not stopping there, the strong physical champions themselves like Irelia, Draven, Jayce (ranged form) and Zeri also nerfed directly in patch 12.6. Even the nerfs that Riot offers are aimed at the rate of power increase according to the AD of those champions or the base damage of skills. With the base AD reduction as above, Riot’s tweaks make the amount of physical damage these units deal weaker than they are now.
Irelia is heavily nerfed, so the Idol lineup around this champion will be much weaker
However, there is something quite unreasonable that Riot did in patch 12.6 that they did not give a buff that was too meaningful for the Mage squad to push the power of the magic damage gameplay. Even Malzahar and Vex were nerfed at max mana and shielding, so theoretically, the Mage team would be nerfed. If Riot gave Ahri a little more damage, this squad would be a lot better.
Chances are, with the SMCK nerf of a bunch of champions and the slight nerf with the Mage team, reroll playstyles will emerge as a top ranked pick. It won’t be too surprising if the Warwick, Talon reroll lineups will become extremely strong in the upcoming patch 12.6 and dominate the meta for a long time.
Will Warwick become the new “boss” of the Tactics Arena meta in patch 12.6?
