Fullmetal Alchemist has released new images featuring the main characters of its upcoming live-action pairing such as Van Hohenheim and King Bradley.
Kodoani.com – New images have been revealed from the next live-action film pair of Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation.
The visual series gives fans a unique look at the anime’s main characters who didn’t appear in the first Fullmetal Alchemist live-action film, such as Seiyo Uchino as Van Hohenheim, his enigmatic father. Elric’s brother wears his trademark glasses and has long, blonde hair, and Hiroshi Tachi as King Bradley, depicted in a blue military uniform as he draws his sword. Images were also released of Keisuke Watanabe as the 12th Crown Prince of Xing, Ling Yao, and Chiaki Kuriyama as Olivier Mira Armstrong, the fearsome officer guarding the northern border of Amestris.

The release of these new images comes more than four years after the first Fullmetal Alchemist live-action film hit theaters in 2017. Hiromu Arakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga series is set in a world where alchemy is a thing. a discipline that everyone can master, allowing individuals to deconstruct and reconstruct matter at the molecular level, as long as they obey the Law of Equivalence Exchange. However, there is a taboo in alchemy – the art of converting people. Edward “Ed” Elric and his younger brother, Al, learn the devastating consequences of this power as they attempt to revive their deceased mother. Ed lost an arm and a leg and Al lost his entire body, his soul attached to a suit of armor. Determined to make amends, Ed embarks on a journey with his brother to restore Al’s body and track down the mystical Sorcerer’s Stone.
As one of the best-selling manga series in history, Fullmetal Alchemis t has received numerous adaptations since its serial release in 2001. It has been adapted into two television anime series, Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, with the second adaptation reinterpreting the manga more faithfully than the first.
A live-action film adaptation of the same name was also released on November 19, 2017, bringing to life the first four volumes of the manga. The film stars Ryosuke Hamada as Ed, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, the fiery mechanic of the Elrics, and Dean Fujioka as the Flame Alchemist, Roy Mustang. Despite the possibility of a delay, it was announced in July 2017 that a sequel was in development. It was then revealed in March of this year that the first film would actually have two sequels, with Hamada, Honda, and Fujioka reprising their roles.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation are scheduled to release on May 20 and June 24, respectively.
