Kodoani.com – TV Tokyo announced on Wednesday that the anime Gal-gaku. Sei Girls Square Gakuin (Girl School: Holy Girls Square Academy) is getting a second season titled Gal-gaku. II: Lucky Stars will premiere on January 10. The anime will again air in the children’s variety show Oha-sta (Good Morning Studio).

While the first season was based on the performing group Girls² (pronounced “Girls Girls”), the new season is based on the performing group Lucky² (pronounced “Lucky Lucky”). The group’s members will voice the main characters, and the group will perform the opening theme song “Ichigo: Ichigo Ichie.”
The new second season has a different staff. Makoto Nakata will direct the anime at OLM. Takahiko Kyōgoku (Love Live !, Land of the Lustrous) is returning as animation supervisor. Jun’ichi Fujisaku (Blood + , Atom The Beginning) will also return to oversee the series’ script.
A manga will premiere in the March 2022 issue of Ciao magazine.
The first season premiered in April 2020. The nine-member Girls² group includes several actors from the tokusatsu TV series Girls x Heroine.
The first anime was set at Holy Girls Square Academy, an academy that trains professional performers. The anime focuses on students whose purpose is to participate in the major annual academy event, Girls’ Arena. The Girls² members played themselves in the anime.
Hiroaki Akagi (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Hina Logic – from Luck & Logic) is the director, while Norihito Takahashi is the director at OLM and Wit Studio.
