In Pre-Season updates, Riot will tend to put in a lot of creative changes and wait for feedback from the player community. These changes will sometimes be permanent (like the Mythic item system) or will have to be tweaked when the regular season begins.
One of the most notable changes in the 2023 Pre-Season patch is in the jungle position. In the new season, Riot will bring in the Summoner system to replace the two familiar jungle items, the Ice Dagger and the Lava Stone. In addition, Smite no longer heals is also a very important change for the upcoming Jungle position. But it is the appearance of Summoner’s Rift that has helped some champions appear in the jungle of Summoner’S Rift. One of them is Dr. Mundo.
One of the first players to test Dr. Mundo for the jungle position was Faker. Specifically, T1’s Mid lane used this champion in a ranked match. With Dr.Mundo, Faker cleared the jungle in 1 minute 34 seconds. This is considered a very fast result, even compared to the pure jungle champions of League of Legends.
But recently, a player proved that Dr. Mundo can clear the forest even faster. Accordingly, this player did a test video. The results made League of Legends fans extremely surprised: Dr. Mundo cleared the entire jungle in just 1 minute and 16 seconds.
According to observations, this player has accumulated extremely good jungle camps and used appropriate skills to optimize time. Although Smite does not provide the same healing ability as before, Dr. Mundo is inherently a champion with very good healing ability. In addition, Phong Ho Spirit Beast also helps this champion move faster and deal more damage to jungle monsters.
With tests from Faker himself and a random player, Dr. Mundo is showing strength in the Jungle position during the pre-season. However, the speed of 1 minute 16 seconds is too fast. It is possible that in the near future, Riot will make adjustments related to this champion so that Dr. Mundo is more suitable for the new position but does not make League of Legends lose its balance.
