The second Gamescom Asia (Gamescom Asia) event has been announced. The show will take place at the end of the year, from October 20 to 23.
Like last year, the conference will be held in Singapore, at the Suntec Singapore Convention Centre. The event will also adopt a hybrid model, offering a mix of online and in-person content.
The event will also be accessible to the public for the first time this year, with the opening of a new physical arcade, offering game demos, live shows and more.
Tickets are expected to be released in the coming months. “This is the year for gaming events as Gamescom and Gamescom Asia relaunch to welcome visitors to the show,” said Mathias Kuepper, CEO of Gamescom Asia organizer Koelnmesse Singapore.
He also said that he is very excited to bring about a festive atmosphere, of course, while ensuring safety measures in the post-pandemic context. Last year, Gamescom Asia ran as a hybrid event, offering in-person and online experiences along with a physical conference for industry professionals to attend.
Gamescom Asia 2022 is known as the “single satellite event of the world’s largest PC and video game festival” in the Asia-Pacific market to Southeast Asian gamers. The event is expected to attract around 15,000 visitors and over 100 exhibitors mainly from the region, including other game leaders from around the world.
As for the mall, there are various booths visitors can attend with talks ranging from AAA to indie game exhibitors talking about their latest video games. The focus is said to cover various industry topics from “game development across platforms, to marketing, production management, emerging technologies and more”.
Millions of people watched and joined Gamescom Asia last year, so they expect lots of fun to come this year. Ticket sales schedule will be announced in the near future.
