A Canadian candy company is recruiting candy testers with a very “huge” salary.
Candy Funhouse, an online confectionery retailer, selling a variety of products from chocolate bars, chewing gum and licorice, etc., is recruiting for the position of Chief Candy Officer to work from home. The recommended salary is 78,000 USD/year (~ 1.8 billion VND).
The candy Manager’s job is to “chair candy board meetings, be the main taste tester… and all that fun stuff.”
Candy Funhouse CEO Jamal Hejazi said several thousand applicants applied for the position after they posted an announcement on LInkedIn in July. He said he was also surprised that so many candidates filmed videos introducing both of them. family, affirming that all family members are willing to share the above duties and salary.

“Imagine your fondest memories of candy, and now see it every day at work,” said CEO Hejazi.
Candy Funhouse, based in suburban Toronto (Canada), is owned by a quartet of siblings aged 20 to 30 and their parents. They grew up here and also run a few donut shops and restaurants.
Hejazi said: “My brother Mo is a candy salesman. He founded the company in 2018 and my mother is employee number 2.”
The Hejazi family hopes to differentiate itself from competitors like Mars and Hershey thanks to a “weird” combination of products and social media. Candy Funhouse is ready to sell all products, even if the order is just a lollipop.
Candy Funhouse recorded a sharp increase in sales during the pandemic, but still just under $15 million. It is known that the Hejezi family holds 90% of the company’s shares.
The position of Candy Director is open to young candidates, aged 5 years and over (children need parental permission). Many parents have filmed their children and put them online to apply.
A Candy Funhouse
Candy Funhouse has 340,000 followers on Instagram and three million on TikTok, including a member of the famous Kardashian family, Hejazi said, though he declined to specify who it was.
Candy Funhouse is currently busy preparing for Halloween, their biggest sale last year. We currently only have 40% of the stock in stock. Last week, candy giant Hersheys also reported that it will have difficulty meeting demand for Halloween candy this year.
Hejazi also notes that social media reports that the Candy Director will be asked to eat 3,500 candies a month are incorrect. (That number represents different types of company stock.) “That would be 117 pills a day,” said Hejazi. “Too much.”
