Kodoani.com – A special event for the series Golden Kamuy announced on Sunday that the anime will get a fourth season.
Brain’s Base is in charge of animation instead of Geno Studio. Shizutaka Sugahara (D-Frag!) is the main director, replacing director Hitoshi Nanba. Noboru Takagi will return to oversee the series’ script. Takumi Yamakawa is the new character designer, replacing Kenichi Ohnuki.
The first TV anime season premiered in April 2018.
The third season premiered in October 2020.

In the early 20th century, Saichi Sugimoto “Immortal” veteran from the Russo-Japanese war is going through tough times during the postwar gold rushes in the wild Hokkaido. When he learns of a faraway land where the mysterious Ainu treasure is hidden, he decides to embark on a perilous journey to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only one interested in this treasure, anyone who knows about Ainu is willing to kill each other to get it. Faced with a tough life in the northern wilderness, formidable criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, to survive, Sugimoto will need to use all of his skills and luck – along with with the aid of an Ainu girl named Asirpa.
Noda launched the manga in Young Jump magazine in 2014. The series is entering the manga’s final arc in July.
The manga’s 15th compiled book volume was published in September 2018 and comes with an anime DVD focusing on the manga’s Barato arc. The manga’s 17th volume was published in March 2019 and also comes with an anime DVD. One-third of the original animated video (OVA) for the Monster arc accompanied the manga’s 19th volume in September 2019. The 23rd volume’s release came with an OVA adaptation of the “forbidden” “Shiton Animal Chronicles” stories.
