(Country) – Coach Bengi of T1 still highly appreciates his two students Gumayusi – Keria at the 2022 World Finals.
At the last LCK Summer 2022, T1 had not really satisfactory results. The team that won the undefeated victory in the Spring 2022 tournament was completely “decrypted”. The players that are expected a lot like Gumayusi or Oner have not really stable form. While Keria and Faker could not shine every match. The only one still performing as expected was Zeus – T1’s Top.
However, Faker and his teammates can still go to the 2022 LCK Summer Finals and be the 2nd seed of the LCK region at the 2022 World Finals (Worlds 2022). Many fans of T1 in general and of Faker in particular hope that the home team will win good results at this tournament. The reason is because Faker is old, the last days of his career are approaching. And the second reason is that T1 has been ungrateful with international titles for so long.
Last Summer, if we had to find the most disappointing name in the T1 lineup, surely the audience would immediately think of Gumayusi. Once the most anticipated ADC, Gumayusi has not been himself since MSI 2022. Even in the list of the 20 best players, in the LPL and LCK regions alone, Gumayusi is also the only player of the team. T1 cannot participate.
But ignoring the suspicions of the League of Legends community, T1’s current coach, the legendary Bengi, put his full faith in his bot duo. On the recent media day, coach Bengi confidently shared about the bot lane duo he owns:
“In my opinion, our bot lane duo has the advantage of superior laning as well as excellent play. AD carry (Gumayusi) has great reflexes while Support (Keria) is capable. command and react to the situation well.” – Coach Bengi shared.
In fact, the abilities of Gumayusi and Keria were undisputed. However, Gumayusi still faces a huge psychological barrier. The expectations of this ADC are so high that he is no longer himself at MSI 2022 as well as last Summer. If he continues to perform poorly at the upcoming 2022 Worlds, Gumayusi may put T1 in a difficult situation.
Conclude
Coach Bengi’s trust in his bot lane pair is not without foundation. But Gumayusi in particular and the T1 team in general need to get back to top form soon. Because, Worlds 2022 will be much harsher than the LCK or MSI. Every mistake in this tournament will cost you a whole season.
