On the evening of November 25, player Scout was discovered by Vietnamese League of Legends fans going to Ho Chi Minh City to travel. This fan also shared that Mid Lane, who is on the LNG payroll, is cute and extremely friendly. However, Scout’s trip seems to have ended when he shared that he left Vietnam yesterday (November 26).
Scout was recently spotted on a trip to Vietnam
After a not very successful World Championship 2023 season when being eliminated by T1 in the Quarterfinals, Scout’s above trip is extremely necessary. However, trouble still seems to not let go of this player when the controversy with his old team EDward Gaming (EDG) reappears. A few hours ago, LPL regional news site Sohu recently reported that EDG likely won the lawsuit against Scout for breach of contract.
Sohu website recently revealed that: “EDG has a very high chance of winning the lawsuit against Scout and this player only has 2 options left”
The cause of this incident comes from the end of 2021 (EDG just won the World Championship) when this team increased salaries for its members. At that time, Scout decided to sign another contract with an LCK team while still under contract with EDG. By the beginning of 2023, this guy decided to reduce his salary so he could join LNG Esports. This caused EDG to file a lawsuit against Scout for serious breach of contract.
The fact that Scout signed a contract with an LCK team despite still having a contract with EDG probably really happened, not just a “trick” to increase salary.
Also according to Sohu, the fact that EDG won the lawsuit against Scout left this player with only 2 options. First, this guy must return to EDG and fulfill the remaining years of his contract. For someone like Scout who took a pay cut to leave, he definitely would not choose this option. The second option is that Scout must pay a contract compensation amount equal to 2 – 3 years’ salary.
Trang Sohu assessed: “Scout will likely have to compensate for a contract worth 2-3 years’ salary.”
In early 2023, Blix.gg revealed that S-tier players (who won the World Championship) like Scout will have an annual compensation of 30 million yuan (about 102 billion VND). If the former World Championship 2021 champion has to compensate his contract according to this salary, the amount he must pay to EDG could reach 60 – 90 million yuan (about 204 – 306 billion VND). This is really an extremely large number, even for a top LPL star like Scout.
Blix page once revealed that: “There are 7 S-level players (who have won Worlds like Scout) with an annual income of up to 30 million yuan.”
No matter which option you choose, this incident will greatly worsen Scout’s image in the eyes of the audience. Professionalism is extremely important for a League of Legends player. The fact that Scout in the past broke his contract and signed with another LCK player team while still under contract with EDG has disappointed many fans.
