Heineken company sneakers that ‘contain beer’ through their collaboration with the famous sneaker designer.
Well, look no further – These sneakers can really be ‘filled with beer’. Heineken made the impossible possible through their collaboration with renowned sneakers designer Dominic Cambrione, more widely known as The Shoe Surgeon. Cambrione, who creates top-notch designs specifically for basketball star LeBron James and individual Drake, turns radical ideas into reality by injecting beer into the soles of sneakers with the right precision and balance.
Regarding the partnership, Cambrione said: “Partnering with Heineken for their new beer has been an exciting challenge. We both share a passion for innovation and pushing boundaries, and created a design to reflect that.”
“I can’t say I’ve also designed a real beer-breathing sneaker a long time ago,” he concludes.
It’s no exaggeration to say that these Heinekicks are truly no different from a Heineken product, inside and out. Externally, these sneakers are available in red, green and silver – representing the official Heineken colors. Inside the base is of course Heineken beer.
The team at Heineken have also generously inserted a removable bottle opener into the tongue of the sneaker, so open a bottle of draft beer instead of trying to drink beer from the sole of the sneaker.
Interestingly enough, shoes and beer are not as weird a couple as you might think. Shoe polishing – or the act of pouring one’s drink, usually beer, into one’s boots before donning alcohol – is a well-documented tradition in Australian drinking culture.
Which brings us to the next important question – what does it feel like to walk on beer? According to Heineken, the sole gives the wearer an incredibly smooth and unique feeling when moving.
Only 32 pairs of Heinekicks will be produced, of which seven will be made available to local sneakerheads in Q4 2022.
