A way to increase in-game economy by pinging the eye was discovered by many players as a secret mechanic in the 2023 Pre-Season
.
League of Legends is welcoming a lot of changes in the 2023 Pre-Season, but there are still secret mechanics that Riot wants players to discover for themselves. A lot of changes are brought by Riot to create conditions for players to create a variety of gameplay that suits them, but there are still some other changes that will “come late” in the upcoming 12.23 version.
In addition to the change details announced by Riot on updates, there are still many things that the “father” of League of Legends actively keeps hidden for players to discover for themselves. In Preseason 2023, thanks to the new Ping system and vision notifications, pinging enemy wards will now also give you a certain amount of gold
You will be able to get more coins by pinging the enemy’s eye, each time you will get 5 more gold, applied to each eye once. Excluding the Zombie Eye, this mechanic can be applied to all other wards to give players a little extra economy from interacting anywhere on the map.
To explain, the amount of gold normally gained from killing Purple Eye will be 30 gold, this number is 15 gold in Blue Eye. Every 5 gold will be divided from the amount of gold that kills the ward for the first ping or first hit on that ward.
This unique mechanic makes Eye tracking much more fun and also encourages players to diligently control the map to give their team an advantage in the match. Although this is only a small change, the meaning that it brings to the gameplay in League of Legends is enormous.
