The director behind Death Stranding Hideo Kojima posted a video on Twitter that looks like some hint at the upcoming project.
Since founding his own development company, Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima has gained more and more resources. As the creative mind behind the Metal Gear Solid series that helped define the stealth genre, his name has become known in the video game industry even though he’s more of a movie director. After Death Stranding, the Japanese creator still wants to use his unconventional mind to create some of the most exciting titles, and a new video from him offers little hint of the upcoming project.
The Death Stranding director took to Twitter to post a very short and puzzling video just right in his style. The clip shows him turning on an AI machine HAL-9000 from the Space Odyssey series, then the machine plays the famous line from 2001: A Space Odyssey, “I’m sorry Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.” When the camera shifts to the side, gamers will see what looks like a picture of a girl with a calendar page behind her. Next to her is the word “June”, while above her head is the number 6. It seems to be hinting that something will be revealed shortly, possibly today.
However, a report from The Gamer states that some details besides the girl looking like number 1, could mean that the date is actually June 16 and not June 6. There is no way. really to know what Kojima was thinking, but since Death Stranding 2 was confirmed thanks to Norman Reedus’ accidental leak, any big news coming from the Japanese director is likely related to the sequel. next of the game. However, his tweet also contains the message “I think I can go to Jupiter” so it is difficult to be sure of anything.
Either way, gamers will need to keep a close eye on things to see what Hideo Kojima has to offer next. Given the rumors not too long ago that Hideo Kojima might be working on a PS5 game, as well as the denial that Kojima Productions has been acquired by PlayStation, there are quite a few theories to come.
Since the Japanese government has given Hideo Kojima the art award for his Death Stranding Director’s Cut, it wouldn’t be surprising if some more information about the game’s sequel emerges. Of course the video on this new tweet is also too short and it doesn’t really give much information, so anything being said at this point will be just conjecture.
