This year’s 19th issue of Shogakukan’s Big Comic Superior magazine revealed on Friday that Hiroya Oku’s Gigant manga will end in the magazine’s 20th issue on the 24th. Oku added on Twitter at September 3 that the manga’s tenth and compiled book volume will publish in December.
The manga began in its final volume in August 2020.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga and it describes the story:
Rei Yokoyamada, a high school student whose father works for a film production company, is inspired to create his own short film with his friends. One day, while looking for an actor, he discovers tabloid reports that adult movie star Papico lives in his area. When he took them down to protect her, he fell in love with her. Little does the boy know that Papico is about to be dragged into a strange, supernatural happening… where she grows to the size of a giant!
Oku launched the manga in Shogakukan in Big Comic Superior magazine in May 2017. Shogakukan published the manga’s ninth volume on August 30.
Oku (Gantz) ended her Inuyashiki manga series in the 10th volume in September 2017. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in North America in print, and Crunchyroll has released the manga series digitally. An anime adaptation of the manga premiered in October 2017 and is streaming on Amazon’s Anime Strike service. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japan in April 2018.
