It looks like the deal has been solidified over the past two months and the series is now officially in production for Amazon Prime as confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan. The cast and members have yet to be announced, but fans have been theorizing who could play the former Greek God of War Kratos.
The first God of War game was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, but fans expect the upcoming series to focus on the Nordic era starting with the 2018 reboot of the same name. The game focuses on Kratos and his son Atreus as they attempt to rebuild their lives in Scandinavia while on a journey to scatter his wife’s ashes at the highest peak of the nine realms. Getting these fans to follow the series won’t be a difficult task.
It is yet to be confirmed whether both adaptations will follow the in-game storyline, and it remains to be seen which direction the production studio will take. Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2017 and follows protagonist Aloy as she continues her quest for answers about her past in a world destroyed by machines. Fans are urging Sony to cast Florence Pugh or Rose Leslie as the live-action version of Aloy.
