The star of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is Dave Bautista saying goodbye to Drax the Destroyer with a photo of him and his co-stars as the movie officially ends.

“Still haven’t found the answer,” Bautista wrote on Instagram. “It ended so suddenly and I had to see my next movie before I could handle it all. Ending a journey that changed my life.” Bautista included #GoodbyeDrax in the post, which included a photo of himself and co-stars Sean Gunn, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and director James Gunn.
Bautista has played Drax in four MCU movies, starting with 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and reappearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The actor announced in May 2021 that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will likely be his last appearance as Drax. Bautista will appear as a character in two more projects before Vol.3: Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi and scheduled to open in theaters on May 6, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, slated to air on Disney+ in December.

Gunn recently shared an image from his last day of filming, along with heartfelt reflections on the past 10 years working on the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. “After more than 100 days of filming and more than 3000 shots, this is the final shot of GotG Vol. 3, introduced to me by the camera team,” he wrote. “It was an easy shot where Rocket sat, first with Sean Gunn, and then nothing was there, and made everything inside of me unable to collapse on the spot.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Season 3 will see the return of Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Klementieff as Mantis, Gillan as Nebula, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket and Vin Diesel as Groot.
