I’m Really Not The Demon God’s Lackey Chapter 96: Summary
This chapter opens with Colin watching the sunrise and grieving because he can barely sleep because he keeps staring at the next door for any kind of screaming or fighting sound. He said that if he really saw a streak of blood on the window or a flash of some kind, his fragile heart wouldn’t be able to withstand the shock.
Colin felt sad because even though the sun had risen, he still kept shivering and shaking. He wonders when Father Vincent will return with some good news, such as banishing the evil that lives next to him. Suddenly Colin’s phone beeps, and he begins to celebrate because it must have been a reply from Father Vincent.
All of Colin’s happiness vanished after reading the message. In the message, Father Vincent tells Colin that he has misunderstood the situation because the owner of the bookstore next door is a kind and passionate man. He also said that he has been moved to several other counties, which means Colin will have to contact another Priest to resolve his issue.
Colin began to cry uncontrollably, and he cried even more when his father passed away. Colin thinks Father Vincent and his henchmen must have been brainwashed by demons, which means they are indeed dead, so he prays for a better afterlife for them.
Colin then thinks about what he can do since even Father Vincent is now gone. After being upset for so long, Colin’s tears turned to anger, and he decided to stop relying on others and handle things on his own. He rose above the ground in large numbers and declared that he would no longer be afraid of his neighbors and proved that he is not someone who is easily bullied.
Colin walked out of the house full of confidence, and he decided that on this day, he would face the demon and reveal his true face to the world. All those big words, but Colin was scared as soon as he stepped out of the house, so he immediately turned around and curled up in a corner. He said he was not afraid. He just didn’t have the right equipment to face such a strong opponent.
Colin remembered that he had some holy water around the house, so he started looking for it. He eventually finds holy water, but it turns out it’s just a small amount that doesn’t even affect a demon. Upon returning from the basement, Colin finds a mysterious gold coin that he remembers as his family’s treasure.
Colin recalls the time when he was 8 years old, his father told him that this gold coin had brought Colins great luck and power, which was the source of their wealth. After remembering the entire history of Coin, Colin is even more motivated, and so he once again steps out of the house to face the demon living in the neighborhood.
This time Colin goes to the bookstore, and he slams the door to announce his arrival. He had closed his eyes the whole time, but as soon as he opened them, he found himself in front of Lin and five mysterious men.
Colin looked at the logo on their skirts and realized that they were from the largest merchandising organization in Nokin, The Ash Market.
