At the RDC conference, Roblox announced a series of new activities in the field of UGC. The 20-year-old company is now trying to open a new chapter and gain even more market share. In 2019, 61% of Roblox’s daily active users were gamers under the age of 13, making the platform a true “children’s playground.” The latest data puts this rate at 45%, although it has decreased slightly but the overall user base still tends to be young.
But Roblox is clearly not satisfied with being a “kids platform.” After capturing the youth market, Roblox began to show its ambitions and began looking for growth opportunities in other age groups. Starting in 2022, Roblox has become less youth-oriented as shown in its financial statements and emphasized the growth of its current user base as more diverse.
