In the program “Kami to Summers” premiered last month in Japan, One Piece author – Eiichiro Oda had some interesting sharing.
Eiichiro Oda (born January 1, 1975 in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist, currently writing for the publishing house Shueisha. He is the author of the world famous series One Piece.
Recently, author Oda was invited to interview on the program Kami to Summers and the famous author had a lot of interesting sharing. The content of the interview is as follows:
When asked which manga can be considered the most read since childhood, Oda’s answer is “Dragon Ball”. And Oda added that he opened “Dragon Ball” to imitate drawing more than reading.
With the question of how busy a day is and not to mention have time to eat out? Oda replied that after One Piece had been serialized for about 10 years, Oda discovered that the street outside had sprouted a lot of new restaurants. The fact that there are more restaurants like this proves that people love to eat out, Saturday and Sunday are still days off. When Oda realized this, his heart felt sad and now Oda is trying not to think about it anymore. (ODa’s author’s answer doesn’t seem relevant to the program’s question at all.)
The program asked Oda what reward Oda would give himself when he took a break from drawing, and Oda replied that if he was invited to eat by a delicious butcher or planned to have a BBQ, Oda would do his best to finish the manuscript. without eating or sleeping for many days. Thereby, it can be affirmed that the author Oda loves to organize BBQ parties.
When asked if anything changes between when Oda is upstairs in his home and downstairs at work, Oda replied that he never showers at work, so he’s very dirty. And when he comes back to his family, Oda will take a shower, shave, and clean things. In short, at work: Dirty, at home: Clean. No special changes to work at all.
It is quite unfortunate that in the interview, the program did not ask questions related to the One Piece series, but it is highly likely that the author Oda did not reveal any new details because the manga is entering the next phase. The most important development of the Wano Arc and of course he wants to keep it a secret to make the story more attractive when it comes out.
