One of the most popular theories supported by the Naruto community is: Boruto’s world is an illusion created by Madara’s Eternal Tsukuyomi.
Many fans in the Naruto and Boruto communities are currently enthusiastically supporting the theory that the Boruto world is not real, it is just an illusion. Eternal Tsukuyomi created by Madara.
Although there is no real basis, with some of the comments below, it cannot be ruled out that the above hypothesis really exists.

What is Eternal Tsukuyomi?
At the height of the Fourth Ninja War in Naruto Shippuden, Madara Uchiha finally completed the Eternal Tsukuyomi – a genjutsu capable of manipulating everyone in the world.
In this perfect illusion, the victim will be trapped in eternal dreams, each individual will live in his or her ideal reality.
Therefore, Madara hopes to create a world without war and an absurdly ideal society that he has been planning for many years. While everyone in the world was trapped in this illusion, Naruto and Sasuke managed to escape and finally broke their ‘prison’.
Is Boruto Naruto’s dream?
The theory that Boruto is Naruto’s eternal dream has raised many different opinions in the community.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations picks up after the events of Naruto Shippuden, in a world of peace achieved through the efforts of Naruto and his friends.
In addition to creating a peaceful world, Naruto also fulfilled his dream and became the Seventh Hokage, all of which were too perfect to be true.
Obviously, this is an interesting theory but it has no reliable evidence to confirm ‘firmly’.
The possibility of ‘realization’ of the hypothesis
The Eternal Tsukuyomi Hypothesis will be a dark and surprising turn in the Boruto series, but upon deeper analysis, we can understand that this is extremely absurd.
Because, if the hypothesis is true, then all the achievements that happened at the end of Naruto will be lies. Naruto wouldn’t have had his final battle against Sasuke, he wouldn’t have married Hinata, he wouldn’t have become Hokage and Madara would still be wandering around.
