Appearing on the Chinese talk show Shidian Talk, Jackie Chan shared that he felt powerless to join the film industry. Despite the difficulties and challenges he went through when starting a business, the actor felt it was his only choice because he was not well-educated, only knew how to “hit and flip”.
In that situation, Jackie Chan felt that he could only rely on himself. The 60-year-old martial arts star recalls that he endured a lot of work before he became famous and that he once wanted to get revenge on a director during filming.
“I was scolded so much that the director even dragged my ancestors in” – Jackie Chan said – “I took the knife and I was about to go in and stab the director. I told him. He told me he could scold me but he couldn’t scold my mother.”
In a tense moment, actor Hong Kim Bao stepped forward and pulled Jackie Chan aside and asked, “Are you crazy?” and that intervention helped calm down Jackie Chan. Later, Jackie Chan said he had learned to be patient and not impulsive on set.
