The turn-based tactical gameplay of Jagged Alliance 3 is introduced in the new trailer at the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase 2022 event.
Jagged Alliance 3 from developer Haemimont Games was announced 10 months ago. Since then, publisher THQ Nordic has been silent on the development of the tactical RPG, allowing Haemimont the time it needed to bring this third installment to life. On Friday, THQ Nordic gave Jagged Alliance fans a look at the sequel in the Digital Showcase. A new trailer for Jagged Alliance 3 has provided a look at the tactical RPG title.
The three-minute word trailer dives into the game’s turn-based combat gameplay and various systems. Fans of the genre will be excited to see the return of Jagged Alliance combat staples, investing Action Points for greater accuracy and selecting body parts to target with different types of guns. Players also have a variety of weapons to use, including explosives. Moreover, players will have to collect and search for rewards.
On top of individual combat confrontations, Jagged Alliance 3 will also feature a much larger conflict for players to dig into. In the latest trailer for THQ Nordic, the system is revealed at the end with a large map and a line that divides areas into red, blue and gray sections. This is the Grand Chien and players will have to fight to control the territory, recruit groups of mercenaries and prevent attacks from enemy troops. The player’s choices will affect what happens to the Grand Chien and the people in it.
While it’s not mentioned in the new trailer, the third installment of the franchise will also support multiplayer. There are no exact details, but the game’s updated description confirms that Jagged Alliance 3 players will be able to experience the campaign with friends via online coop. How forces are divided and how progression is shared remain unanswered questions, but at least Jagged Alliance 3 players will have the option to go online and play with friends.
As noted, Jagged Alliance 3 is being developed by Haemimont Games, a name that is already very familiar to fans of strategy games and city building. Haemimont is responsible for a trio of titles in Tropico, Imperium Romanum and several Rome city builders and most recently Victor Vran. Jagged Alliance 3 is definitely a new kind of game from Haemimont, but it certainly has the experience to offer something special. Currently, Jagged Alliance 3 has not yet announced a release time. With the strides fans can see from the announcement to this new gameplay trailer in 10 months, it’s clear that progress is clearly happening quickly. Don’t be surprised to hear more about Jagged Alliance 3 from THQ Nordic in the coming months.
