Fushiguro’s fight against the Reggie Star continues to get more intense in Chapter 171 as they both display clever tricks with their Cursed Techniques.

Fushiguro cleverly lured Reggie to a gym in the previous chapter with a plan in mind. Reggie guessed that the guy was up to something but didn’t know what to do. Furthermore, he erroneously assumed that Fushiguro lacked major moves. Fushiguro activated his Territory Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, completely obscuring Reggie as they entered the gym.
Reggie quickly recovered from her shock in Chapter 171 and activated a form of New Shadow Technique: plain territory never seen before in the series. Several characters demonstrated the typical use of simple territory techniques. However, readers have never seen it used in this way before. This form of Simple Domain also seems to be uncommon compared to the regular form as it is called an esoteric technique.
Hollow Wicker Basket is the original form of New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. It nullifies the territory to negate the guaranteed hit effect, like the modern form of this technique. Expansion of territory means granting the user a guaranteed number of hits and nullifying the target’s cursed technique. The Simple Technique is a direct response to this as the user will not be affected by the Cursed Technique imbued with the Domain Name or the guaranteed attack. Territory Expansion users are also vulnerable to attacks when another Territory is passed within their range.
Reggie believes she is safe from Fushiguro’s attacks but is surprised when attacked. He missed the fact that Fushiguro’s Chimera Shadow Garden was not a complete domain. Fushiguro can’t close his domain by himself, which is why he lures Reggie to a gym and forcibly does so in that space. Since his territory is incomplete, the barrier with no hit effect is guaranteed. Chimera Shadow Garden only expands Fushiguro’s Ten Shadow Technique and expands its potential by 120 percent.
With single domains, including the Hollow Wicker Basket, is used to nullify territory expansion, not the Cursed Techniques themselves. That suits Fushiguro perfectly as he uses his shadow clones and shikigami with only his Cursed Technique. The reason they were able to hit Reggie despite his plain Duchy was that Fushiguro didn’t use his Duchy to attack. He simply uses his Cursed Technique while his Duchy is active as an enhanced ability, making Fushiguro’s blows more powerful. This makes Chimera’s unfinished Garden of Shadows more dangerous than a guaranteed assault territory.
Reggie realizes this and admits that it could cost him the game. This loss would most likely mean death, so his brother quickly found a solution. He found that while Fushiguro was able to keep things in his shadow, he wielded only a handful of weapons. This made him feel odd because if the entire Duchy was a shadow, it would mean he would have more weapons stored. He correctly deduced that Fushiguro must bear the weight of whatever he stored in his shadow. Which means his shadow is basically like a big backpack and he feels the weight of whatever Fushiguromang is inside of it.
Reggie used this to his advantage by handing out three full cars along with his receipts and letting them sink into Fushiguro’s shadow on the floor. Of course this weighed on Fushiguro to the point of being unable to stand, but Reggie missed the fact that there was also a shadow above him. After all, a Territory is still a Territory even if it is incomplete. Fushiguro drops Max Elephant right on Reggie and it lands on him. The two are currently in a clash to see who will be the first to be crushed by the unbearable weight.
