Shueisha reported on Wednesday that the manga Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami has more than 45 million copies in circulation, both in print and digital, as well as unsold copies.
The manga’s circulation has increased by 530% in the past half year since the anime adaptation premiered last October.
Manga has:
8.5 million at the beginning of October
10 million on October 29
15 million on December 16
20 million on January 13
25 million on January 26
30 million on February 9
35 million on March 4
40 million on March 31
The manga’s 15th volume alone sold 1.5 million copies in its initial release – the first time any volume of the manga has had more than 1 million copies in its initial release.

Akutami launched the manga in Shueisha, with Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018.
Viz Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English concurrently with Japan as part of its Jump Start initiative. When Viz then moved to its new Shonen Jump model in December 2018, the company began publishing new chapters of the manga online. Shueisha is also publishing the manga on its MANGA Plus website.
The anime Jujutsu Kaisen anime premiered on October 2, and it had 24 episodes. Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie), a new animated feature film from the franchise, will premiere this winter. The series is based on the work of Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Tokyo Toritsu Jujutsu Koto Senmon Gakko manga.
