Jujutsu Kaisen has revealed a new illustration of Sukuna ahead of episode 17. This episode is scheduled to premiere on November 16 and is a sequel to the Shibuya Incident.

Studio MAPPA returned to produce the sequel, this time under the direction of Shota Goshozono. In addition to the television anime, the franchise also has a prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, also produced by the same studio. The plot takes place after the Hidden Treasure/Early Death arc but before the events of the first season. Recently, the studio has been criticized for poor planning that led to production problems, with many animators speaking out against the approach on Twitter/X. The same studio worked on the first season and the movie.
Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the manga by Gege Akutami which is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga launched on March 5, 2018 and has since become one of the most popular shonen titles today. Viz Media is publishing it in English and fans can also read it for free on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus app but only for most recent chapters.
