Yūga Yamato, Kazuki Katou, Yūma Uchida star in anime adaptation of children’s novel
Kodoani.com – The official website for the novel’s original theatrical anime video (OVA) Kaitō Queen wa Circus ga Osuki (Mirage Queen Aime Cirque) by Kaoru Hayamine began streaming the second trailer for the anime on Saturday. The teaser introduces the characters’ voices:
The story revolves around the Phantom Thief Queen, a person who can steal anything they want. Their gender, age and nationality are unknown. Together with their partners Joker and RD, they fly around the world in their airship. Now, the Queen has her eyes on a cursed gem: the legendary “Rose of Linden”. However, an unexpected incident occurred, and a mysterious circus troupe stole the jewel before Queen could arrive. Queen will challenge various members of the crew, including a hypnotist, a magician and an acrobat, to retrieve the jewel. For the Queen nothing is impossible.

The staff is teasing, but not yet revealing, the voice cast for the character Whiteface.
Saori Den (Pokémon episode director) is directing the project at East Fish Studio, and Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm, Orient) is writing the script. Kumiko Kawashima (Fantasista Stella) is designing the characters. Moe Hyūga (Steins; Gate 0, If My Favorite Pop Idol Made it to the Budokan, I would Die) is composing. Toshiki Kameyama is the sound director of Bit Groove Promotion. Pony Canyon will distribute the anime.
The anime will premiere early this summer. Retail website Canime will begin selling the anime’s MoviTicke Cards in a limited pack with two acrylic keychains next Friday at 6:00pm
Anime celebrates the 20th anniversary of the novel series. Kadokawa published the first novel under her children’s label Aoitori Bunko in March 2002 with illustrations by K2 Shōkai. The latest novel was published on July 14. The project marks the franchise’s first time making a video adaptation. The anime has the same title as the novel.
