Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 – Episode 6 – Daki’s true power is released. However, even then, with Tanjiro’s ghost buff ability, Daki still couldn’t match.
For me, the sight of Tanjiro holding his breath straight at Daki with a flaming sword in hand officially surpasses any action that ufotable has done in all of their anime, at least for now. The emotion I got from watching Tanjiro and Nezuko fight an even stronger Daki made me momentarily forget completely about Fate, God Eater or The Garden of Sinners.
If there are two words to identify episode 6 of Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2, it is probably “virtual vl”. That was the first thing that popped into my head when the episode ended. I am very confused as to how Tanjiro gathered his strength to control Hinokami Kagura for such a long time.
At some point, Tanjiro even mentioned how slow Daki’s movements are and that’s when I realized that this is the first time we see the guy actually graze the potential power that exists. in his veins. Honestly, this is a great character. Driven by an absolute desire to protect the defenseless, Tanjiro wants to prevent others from experiencing the same tragedies that he and Nezuko experienced. He even tried to learn about demons.
We’ve seen him try to appeal to them before, even sympathizing with demons, acknowledging their pain and suffering. Tanjiro tried a similar approach with Daki but quickly gave up after realizing she was only there for the pleasure of killing. Her human face, briefly shown, was nothing more than a patch of distant memory.
Another thing that I love about this 6th episode of Kimetsu no Yaiba Color 2 is the character Daki himself. She is such an interesting High Priestess. I know there’s something a bit odd regarding the previous confrontation with Tanjiro. Daki seemed to be holding back his strength. This volume explains that in detail. Daki’s blood demonic is the sash, which is basically her body parts. The belt can be navigated into separate instances out of Daki’s body, making her actions undetectable.
That meant Daki had to split some of his power. So when she absorbs them all back into her main body, her true power will be released. However, even then, with Tanjiro’s ghost buff ability, Daki still couldn’t match.
The title of the 6th episode of Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 is “Layered Memories” and I think the main reason for that is because the faint memory patches of all 3 characters are used throughout. At various points in the battle, we learn about the memories of Daki, Nezuko, and Tanjiro.
Daki has some memory fragments as she goes back into her human memories, revealing the hurt and pain she went through. That thought was interspersed with her current demonic existence, where she was no longer helpless and weak. Basically, Daki chooses to drink Muzen’s blood and never look back on that weak past, reveling in power. But she also reveals a new connection between Muzen and herself.
Due to the demon lord’s blood running through his veins, Daki is also able to tap into some of his oldest memories, thereby acting as a warning when she confronts Tanjiro. Nezuko and Tanjirou also screened their memories during the battle but they only used their thoughts to gain strength and desire to finish off Daki. I think the shards of memory work really well in this episode and add depth to the climactic fight scenes that follow.
And as many fans expect, the beautiful, pale-skinned, bloodthirsty Nezuko has turned into a voluptuous one-horned demon. The way the episode is built, you might think that Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tengen would approach and prepare to step in. But it was Nezuko who showed up and what a promising performance! Nezuko took the spotlight from both Daki and his brother, capturing the attention of the second half of Kimetsu no Yaiba season 2 episode 6 and possibly the upcoming episode 7 as well.
All the work that Tanjirou did was completely washed away when his sister stepped onto the screen. Where did Nezuko get all that muscular strength from? Daki has identified Nezuko’s resilience as that of a High Xuan. Will Muzan figure this out and try to turn this to the demons’ advantage? I can’t remember if Nezuko’s potential has been discussed or acknowledged among the Highlanders but they’ll definitely notice soon after this overwhelming display.
Kimetsu no Yaiba’s appeal is still too great to admit. Getting ready to have a broadcast time frame close to Attack on Titan is not a simple thing. There are a lot of expectations surrounding the release of an episode of this quality. Action sequences with great animations and 3DCG backgrouds that enhance the image have always been a feature of ufotable. The voice acting is also very good, especially Tanjiro’s in the emotional segments.
In the end, the story as usual was poignant. I don’t know what the next episode will be but I’m excited to know. It is the feeling of euphoria that I get when watching episodes like this that makes me love Kimetsu no Yaiba even more.
