This fatal error appeared up to 3 times in the confrontation between DRX vs NS.
In the match between DRX vs Nongshim RedForce yesterday (August 5) at Week 8 of the LCK Summer 2022 group stage, a strange phenomenon appeared that did not match the in-game logic. Those are two support champions that respawn almost immediately after they’re killed in separate fights. In fact, Akshan’s passive mechanism from Stealth Revenge (W) could be the answer. However, Akshan was not present in the Bo3 series, making all the audience, BLV and even LoL fans dumbfounded, not understanding what happened.
In the first case in game 1, BeryL’s Amumu was defeated early in the teamfight near the Tech Dragon cave. Instead of waiting for the time to count the respawns, DRX’s support immediately appeared on the map forcing BeryL to pause the match. The NS side refused Chronobreak and the referee decided to continue the match as usual. Also in the first game, a Baron buff fight caused SnowFlower to experience the same feeling as BeryL. The NS side support doesn’t even respawn on the Ancient Stone Platform, but shows up near the Nexus Town Hall.
DRX defeated SnowFlower on the Ancient Stone Platform, but the bug once again caused NS support to instantly respawn with lots of “?” of both sides.
Although it is not clear what happened in just one game, the BTC LEC banned the players from using Magic Flash, stating that it was the cause of “serious problems”. There’s a chance that the Inspiration-Type Advanced Rune makes BeryL and SnowFlower possess “divine abilities”. Currently the LEC is also the only region that temporarily restricts Flash Magic. But if it is to be the cause of a fatal error, there is a high chance that all other regions will be forced to act in the same way as Europe to reduce negligence.
Anyway, DRX won 2-1 and made NS the third team to lose tickets to the LCK Summer 2022 play-off round. DRX and Kwangdong Freecs are the two teams competing for the remaining one spot.
