Gen.G had a convincing victory against DK in the match that is considered the first Super Classic of the LCK Summer 2022.
DWG KIA will face Gen.G Esports in the first match of the LCK Summer 2022. This is a match that both sides want to win. In addition to the achievement goal on the rankings, this is also a match that confirms the strength and ability to compete for the title of two-thirds of the championship candidates of the 2022 LCK Summer Split, and even further, the upcoming 2022 World Championship.
Game 1
Game 1 can be seen as clearly showing the caution and tactical intentions of the two teams. And the game can only be solved with the amazing handling from… Lehends Support. It’s also the Singed that “sows grief” on DK in Spring 2022, a deal with Lehends’ Spell Smite that stole Baron for Gen.G. After that, the LCK Spring 2022 runner-up flooded in and won the final fight as well as the victory in game 1.
Game 2
This game is heavy on strategy when both DK and Gen.G have options for both good fighting and strong late. But DK has to speed up the game more because the choices on Gen.G’s side make the late game stronger. Although Nuguri had to lie down many times, DK still controlled the tempo of the match and the difference between the two teams. At the end of the game, DK’s “one arrow hit 2 shots” phase while taking Baron and hitting the house made Gen.G confused. Chovy and his teammates could not defend in time and DK equalized the score of this confrontation.
Game 3
Chovy turned game 3 into its own stage with a Corki farm that burned out and had many kills continuously. Although the DK players tried their best, the strength of a Corki farm far beyond time, plus the fact that Doran did not make any more mistakes made DK no longer hope to win the match. Towards the end of the game, Chovy’s shots were too good and Gen.G won after Doran’s Quadra Kill as if to remove all the pressure from the beginning of the game.
However, this loss can help DK see its weaknesses. The journey in Summer 2022 is still long and ShowMaker and his teammates need to fix their mistakes soon to prove they are really a top candidate for the championship, especially when ahead, in addition to Gen.G, there is still 1 mighty T1 waiting.
