In a last-minute decision, the release of the PS4 and PS5 versions of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on September 29, 2022, which coincides with the release of the new installment in the series, Valkyrie Elysium, has been delayed. The announcement was made on September 22, exactly a week before the game was supposed to be released. A new date has been announced, and it’s a bit far from what some might expect, so fans will have to wait a little longer for this device upgrade.
Delays are fairly common these days in the gaming industry, with developers often citing the need for more time to upgrade and improve the overall experience. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will now join a lot of other games that were postponed this year, such as Evil West which was postponed from September to November this year. What could make this delay especially frustrating for many is that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is scheduled to release next week and the digital luxury edition of Valkyrie Elysium, which is still rolling out on September 29, containing code to request a digital copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.
The delay was confirmed by the official Valkyrie Elysium Twitter account on September 22. The reason for the delay is said to need more time to improve the quality of the product. The new release date will be December 22, 2022. The developers have also confirmed that anyone who pre-orders the digital deluxe edition of Valkyrie Elysium on the PlayStation Store will still receive a download code for the copy. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on December 22. The game will also be available for purchase exclusively from Valkyrie Elysium.
This delay seems to have come about because very little information about Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth has been revealed. The game is also not a full reaster and has been confirmed by the PlaySation Store as an HD port of the original Valkyrie Profile, which was released on PSP in 2006 and named Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. However, Valkyrie Profile fans need not worry about the new game in the series, as it will still release on September 29 and Valkyrie Elysium has a playable demo on September 15, so many fans Graves have played the first part of the game and will be able to transfer their save data into the full game.
With so little known about this new release of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, it’s still surprising that the game’s delay wasn’t announced sooner. With just a week to go, a lot of fans will be disappointed that there aren’t many Valkyrie Profile titles that are playable on current hardware, but if they do eventually make a better product, the Procrastination seems like the right decision.
