Ganbare Doki-Chan
Ganbare Douki-chan is a fairly new series based on Yomu’s doujinshi manga. The heroine of the same name is Douki-chan, or Doki-chan, who is afraid to admit her feelings to her colleague, Doki-kun. Unfortunately for her, two other employees also vie for her affections, making Dokis’ possible romance a race against time. There are some humorous scenes with lots of gripping details, but overall, the film is mostly a light-hearted office romance.
86-86
86-Eighty-Six deals with the war between San Magnolia and the Empire of Giad, with the former Giad battling cyborgs controlled by people known as the 86. Race 86 is as important, though. protect the ordinary Albans of the Empire of Giad, who are heavily oppressed by their own government and are considered disposable. Major Lena Milizé, an Alba woman assigned to command the 86th squad, soon discovers that the reality of the war and the treatment of the 86 is far from what she believes.
To Your Eternity
Although To Your Eternity contains many elements of fantasy, it is still no less dramatic at times. Focusing on an immortal being named Fushi, To Your Eternity follows the creature as it takes on various forms and lives. One of them belongs to a wolf who befriends a boy. As the boy waits for the wolf to survive, the wolf tries to learn more about humanity through the boy.
Originally slated to premiere last year, the To Your Eternity anime adaptation finally premiered earlier this year in April. The second season is in the pipeline and is slated to release October next year, so , until then, head to Crunchyroll to see the first twenty episodes about despair, uncertainty, hope, and humanity.
Tokyo Revergers
Tokyo Revengers is a slightly sci-fi take on the classic Japanese yankee (gypsy) fiction genre. With gangs of young delinquents fighting above, the story of time travel nonetheless comes from the heart. The main character is Takemichi, a former gang leader who has now become a shadow of his former self. When he discovers that the old gang has killed his only true love, he finds himself transported back in time 12 years ago.
Now able to repair his life and save her girlfriend and brother, Takemichi is determined to use this uncanny new ability to change the future for his benefit. The film isn’t just about his feelings for her and some of his gang friends, but also the sometimes fierce battles they engage in.
