Kodoani.com – IGN started streaming on Friday the trailer for Knights of the Zodiacthe live-action film adaptation of Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya manga.
The film will open in the US on May 12.
The film will open in Japan on April 28. The film is titled Saint Seiya: The Beginning in Japan.

The film stars Mackenyu as Seiya, Madison Iseman as Sienna, Sean Bean as Alman Kido, Famke Janssen as Guraad, Nick Stahl as Cassios, Diego Tinoco as Nero, and Mark Dacascos as Mylock.
Tomasz Baginski, Polish animator and special effects creator (Oscar Award-nominated animated short “Katedra,” The Witcher) will direct Toei with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Andy Cheng is the stunt coordinator and combat coordinator. Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken are the latest to write the screenplay for the film. Toei is distributing in Japan and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is distributing outside of Japan excluding China and the Middle East.
Pop singer P!nk performed the film’s theme song “Courage”.
In what is considered an origin story, Mackenyu plays Seiya, a street orphan and the main hero of the franchise. When a mystical energy known as Cosmo awakens within him, Seiya begins his journey to conquer the ancient Greek armor of Pegasus and choose his side in the extraordinary battle for the fate of Sienna (Iseman), a Young girl struggles to control her divine powers.
Bean plays a mentor named Alman Kido, a man who recruits Seiya to the Knights Templar team, the organization he founded when he discovered the goddess of reincarnation. Tinoco is a man hired to kill the vulnerable goddess.
Toei Animation producer Yoshi Ikezawa told Variety news site that Toei Animation is “considering six films as part” for the live-action series. He added Toei Animation has “started the conversation” to make a sequel.
